“The other day we started an all-Ukrainian tour with the contemporary unique author program” Alazana “. This is not just a program – it’s months of preparation and training, tones of equipment and scenery, only professional artists and the best suits. We act with maximum return. I have worked in 25 countries of the world, I have twenty years of work in the circus and I am sure that Ukrainians are worthy to watch the circus show of the highest quality “, – assured director of the program, laureate of many international festivals Artem Vielkin.

According to director Artem Vielkin, fans of the circus “Shekera” this year, having watched the program “Alazana” will be able to get unforgettable impressions of the journey to the incredible world.

The Alazana program is the latest in the world of circus art. With the help of the latest technology, we realized the dream of “the master of the alternating current” Never Tesla. In an exclusive show, zippers reach 5 meters. The lightning sorcerer passes through his body 100 kilowatts of real live current. The program “Alazana” is an adventure that you will not forget.

Who does not capture the spirit of the incredible tricks of gymnasts and acrobats under the dome? Who from the heart did not laugh at sparkling jokes of clowns? And who did not admire the skillful animalstars, who freak out in the arena? Circus art has long united people around the world.
Every third Saturday in April all over the world is celebrated the International Day of Circus.
This date was approved in 2009 on the initiative of the European Circus Association and the World Circus Federation, under the patronage of Princess Monaco Stephanie. The President of the European Circus Association, Urs Pills and Princess Stephanie, invited all circuses to support the initiative of the annual celebration of the International Circus Day, and since then it is a day of preserving traditional traditions, development and improvement.
The first circus numbers were horse stunts, performed by Philippe Astley, and then the gymnasts, jugglers, carpenters, trainers, clowns began to go to the arena.
Today in Ukraine, the circus “Shekera” with dignity supports and develops circus traditions, is an honorary member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Circuses of Ukraine. Today it is one of the best circuses in Ukraine.
“The Shekera Circus uses only the most advanced technologies in the preparation of its programs, they are trying to develop circus arts, creating unique skills and craftsmanship. The circus “Shekera” is currently the only circus, tickets for which programs can be purchased online. This is really a step forward, because Ukrainians deserve to have a good rest “, – said the Head of the All-Ukrainian Association of Circuses of Ukraine, congratulating everyone on the International Circus Day and inviting to enjoy the program of the highest level of skill from the artists of the circus” Shekera “.

More recently, on the occasion of the Sukkot holiday in Ashdod (Israel), the 3rd International Circus Festival was held.
Representatives of the Shaker circus visited the festival in order to support the artists who defended our country’s honor on the international level.
This year, many celebrities from the circus art were seen at the festival’s judging panel: the president of the Vevey Comedy Film Festival Eugene Chaplin, son of Charlie Chaplin; artistic director of the Parisian cabaret Moulin Rouge Thierry Utrillah; Philip Aghoog of the Cole du Soleil; the best-known trainer Boris Fedotov; Artistic Director of the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Alain Frer and many others.
The festival was attended by 60 artists and jury from around 20 countries of the world: Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Georgia, Armenia, Spain, France, Italy, USA, Canada, Ethiopia, Poland, Monaco, Mexico, Moldova, Taiwan, Switzerland and Belorussia
“The festival this year was simply incredible. Our Ukrainian actors performed at a rather high level, received approval from the jury members. Equilibrium Victoria Dzyuba, in my opinion, was just great. The trio of “Ecoioki” clowns is generally worthy of the highest praise. The juggler Alexander Sobolev also made a high point, “shared Alexander Shaker’s impressions.
The festival in Ashdod was organized by the City Culture Company, in collaboration with the Dorato Circus, to prove that the circus is an art, not just entertainment.
“Throughout the world, circus art develops, and in our country, it’s not a shame to admit it, it’s harder for artists to give positive emotions to people,” Alexander Shecker summed up.

Vinnitsa citizens and guests of the city can feel the heroes of the fable about the elephant, which was taken by the streets of the city. Most recently, in the city really appeared a huge animal, which settled near the dome of the circus “Shekera”.

“We care about the animal and take care of it. The elephant has become a favorite for children and adults and is fondly photographed with everyone who wishes, “- say employees of the circus” Shekera “.

According to eyewitnesses, this is not even an elephant, but a true mammoth, and he does not walk in the streets of the city, because he seems to be very comfortable with the artists of the circus shapito “Shekera”, who also loved the animal and decided to take it to a friendly circus seven ” u

As the editorial staff learned, the circus “Shekera” with the new program “Alazana” came to the city and invites viewers to dip in the incredible world of the lost city!

Ukrainian spectators will be the first to see Alazana miracles in the international tour!

Fantastic heroes promise to transform the arena into the blooming jungle of Alazana and, with the girl-dreamer Gisiel, and the tropical giant, hold the spectators with the most secret trails.

“Among the dancing fountains and waterfalls, and even in the rain, the Egyptian gods and inhabitants of Alazana will open a magic portal to the viewers, allowing them to touch the unknown and the magic. The girl living in the flower, magicians, magicians, playful exotic animals and, of course, clowns are already waiting for the audience in the new program “Alazana” of the circus “Shekera”, – the organizers of the tour say.

The Circus SHEKERA together with the Ukrainian Association of Circuses of Ukraine held a magnificent charity action under the slogan “Circus for the Future Children”. The Regional Children’s House was visited in the city of Svalyava, Transcarpathian region.
The creative team of the circus happily visited different groups of the kid and brought many gifts. Since these children can not visit the circus performance ALAZANA, the circus came to them home.
The meeting of artists and children will be remembered for a long time. Children with genuine sincerity and joy met the guests and laughed at the clown’s tune. The most important gift of course is the attention and smile, without which it is impossible to imagine a childhood.
With this trip to the Children’s Home, the SHEKERA Circus and the Ukrainian Association of Circuses of Ukraine begin a series of charitable events which invite all our country’s circuses and non-indifferent artists to join.
Support the incredibly important business – “Circus for the future of children”!

In the growing and vast landscape of mural artists, Ola Volo has stood out as one of Canada’s rising talents. The 27 year old, whose distinct style has lent her a growing social media following and hip brand deals, has been able to expertly tow the line between artist and businesswoman.

Despite producing art in an industry that tends to be dominated by men, Ola has carved a unique place for herself in Canada’s dynamic mural and graffiti scene. Drawing on themes from her childhood spent in Kazakhstan and Vancouver, Ola’s art is based heavily around the idea of storytelling and folklore. From 50 foot murals in Vancouver to the tiny labels of an organic product, the intricate patterns and surreal characters of her work enables it to be quietly subversive and uniquely feminine.

RISE was able to talk to the busy artist and learn about her inspirations, her growing list of clients and – of course – where she’s headed next.

Your art is incredibly unique and distinct. Where do you draw your inspiration from?

European folklore and West Coast folklore. Growing up in Vancouver, I was surrounded by deer and bears. It was unavoidable. But the patterns themselves are coming from Eastern European folklore … the rugs and clothing are very pattern heavy. I lived in Kazakhstan before moving to Canada, so that’s what I visually perceived as normal.

You seem to have lived so many places. Has that influenced your art?

I’ve lived in Kazakhstan, Vancouver, Holland, New York and Montreal. I’ve been a bit of a vagabond, but it’s important to be able to find inspiration from different environments and people. Especially if the work is very multicultural, you have to be able to put the work into different spaces and see how people react.

When I moved to New York City, everything was very saturated, the way people care so intensely about their aesthetic, it threw my work in a new, brighter direction. It became more saturated with colour. And when I’m working with clients, an Asian festival for example, I’m able to understand the patterns that come from a different culture and invent a way for it to get into my work.
